Renting In Hyde

Finding the right home is an important decision, and at Taylor & Wood we aim to make the renting process clear, straightforward and well supported from start to finish.

As Hyde’s longest-established independent estate agent, we work closely with tenants to ensure every let is handled professionally, with clear communication, fair processes and ongoing support throughout the tenancy.

Whether you are renting for the first time or relocating within the area, our experienced lettings team is here to guide you through each stage of the process.

We take the time to explain what is required, answer your questions clearly and ensure you understand your responsibilities as a tenant before moving in.

From 1 May 2026, the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 will give tenants new rights and introduce new rules for private landlords. This information sheet explains how the new rules may affect your current tenancy.

Our rental properties are marketed clearly and professionally, with detailed listings to help you make informed decisions.

Viewings are accompanied by our knowledgeable staff, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about the property, the tenancy and the local area.

Once you have found a suitable property, all applications are subject to referencing and credit checks. This process helps protect both landlords and tenants and ensures tenancies are set up correctly from the outset.

We will explain what information is required and keep you informed throughout the application process.

Before the tenancy begins, you will be provided with all relevant documentation, including the tenancy agreement, safety certificates and prescribed information.

An inventory and condition report is prepared to clearly document the property at the start of the tenancy, providing transparency for both parties.

Your deposit is protected within a government-approved tenancy deposit scheme. Full details of the scheme and prescribed information will be provided to you in line with current legislation or you can review the scheme by clicking here.

This protection ensures your deposit is held securely and managed fairly throughout the tenancy.

Throughout your tenancy, clear communication is encouraged. Maintenance issues should be reported promptly so they can be addressed efficiently.

Where Taylor & Wood manages the property, we coordinate repairs using trusted contractors and keep you informed at every stage.

Your safety is important. All rental properties must meet current legal standards, including gas safety, electrical safety and the provision of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms where required.

Relevant certificates are provided at the start of the tenancy and maintained throughout.

When your tenancy comes to an end, we will explain the move-out process clearly, including inspections and deposit return procedures.

A check-out inspection is carried out in line with the inventory to ensure everything is handled fairly and transparently.

With a long-standing presence in Hyde, our team is easily accessible and familiar with the local area. If you have questions or need assistance, you will always be dealing with knowledgeable staff who understand both the property and the process.
